Take your camping skills to the next level with OAC! On night one, our group will meet and sleep at Twisted Pine as we pack and prepare our gear for the rest of the weekend. The next morning, we’ll leave camp early to drive to Golden Gate Canyon State Park and hike straight to our backcountry campsite. After taking a break to set up camp, we’ll drop our heavy packs and spend the afternoon exploring before dinner. On our last morning, we’ll break camp and hike back to Twisted Pine to put away our group gear. Throughout the weekend, you’ll learn about packing for a backpacking trip, how to use a backpacking stove, how to filter water, and more! *Note: This route will be at least a two-mile hike into the park to reach our campsites, gaining 600+ feet in elevation. Participants should be prepared to hike for 1.5+ hours on uneven terrain carrying a 30 lb. backpack.
