What is the Older Girl Advisory Board?
The Older Girl Advisory Board, also known as OGAB, is a group of 14 girls in grades 9-12 from across the state of Colorado who provide feedback on projects ranging from mentoring to program development to older girl engagement to product sales.
What do OGAB (Older Girl Advisory Board) members do?
OGAB representatives provide GSCO staff with direct feedback on current older girl programs and events and offer ideas for future program opportunities. OGAB representatives serve as the voice of their Girl Scout community and advocates for their area of the state. These girls can also write posts for the GSCO blog or create videos for GSCO.
How often does OGAB meet?
OGAB has a monthly web meeting to discuss ongoing business and two overnight retreats a year. These in-person retreats give girls the opportunity to build lasting connections with their peers on the advisory board and participate in leadership workshops and face-to-face projects.
Why is OGAB important?
OGAB gives Seniors and Ambassadors the opportunity to serve as the council's voice for all girls in Girl Scouts of Colorado. By lending a voice to a movement that wants, needs, and values girl-led contributions, these young leaders play a significant role in shaping the ongoing work of Girl Scouts of Colorado.
Is my region represented in OGAB?
Yes! The advisory board is representative of the Girl Scout population across the state.
How do I join the Older Girl Advisory Board?
The application for the 2024-2025 OGAB will open July 8. To join OGAB, girls must submit an online application and two references (family members are not appropriate references).OGAB applicants will also participate in an interview with GSCO staff.
