FAQs

What can my girl do with her membership? toggle arrow

As a Girl Scout, she has so many adventures to explore! She can start earning badges and fun patches, exploring a variety of topics that she finds exciting. GSCO also hosts a wide variety of events across the state, many of them free to members, like educational workshops, outings to sporting events and parks, seasonal celebrations, and much more.

How do I join a troop? toggle arrow

Now that she is an official member of Girl Scouts, a staff member will call you within a few days to talk about ways to connect with your local Girl Scout community. You can also email us at inquiry@gscoloardo.org to get the ball rolling sooner!

Do I need an invitation to join a troop? toggle arrow

No, you can join any open troop without prior connections. Contact us at inquiry@gscolorado.org to learn how to find a troop near you.

What if I can't find a troop that works for me? toggle arrow

If you cannot find a troop that works for your schedule, we encourage you to become a troop leader! We will help you every step of the way, all you need is a passion for supporting girls and a willing spirit! Learn more about starting a troop here.

Otherwise, new troops open every day, with a flurry of activity when the new school year starts! As new troops form, a GSCO staff member will call you about new opportunities in your area. Your Girl Scout can continue to enjoy all the other benefits of her membership until then, like attending Girl Scouts day at Dinosaur Ridge, attending an Outdoor Art workshop, attending horseback riding camp in Rocky Mountain National Park, and more.

How do I find out about events and activities? toggle arrow

Explore our Event Calendar to learn about GSCO events and to assist her in registering for activities that fit her interests. In addition, families receive monthly Snapshot via email with information about in-person events and activities you can do at home!

How can I be involved in my Girl Scout’s experience? toggle arrow

Girl Scout is a girl-led, and family driven. As a caregiver of a Girl Scout, you and your Girl Scout along with fellow volunteers will be partners, shaping and sharing in the fun of the Girl Scout experience. Volunteer today.
