Celebrate International Day of the Girl (IDG), a global day dedicated to recognizing the power, potential, and achievements of girls worldwide. IDG brings communities together to highlight the importance of advancing girls' rights, expanding opportunities, and ensuring that girls have a voice in shaping their futures.
This year, our focus is Increasing Girls' Access to Education because when girls are able to stay in school, everyone benefits. During this interactive session, participants will explore their own school experiences while learning about schools and educational opportunities around the world. Through discussion and activities, girls will discover the similarities and differences in how education is experienced globally, identify challenges that prevent some girls from accessing education, and consider ways they can take action to support educational equity.
As part of our commitment to making a difference, participants will also take action by collecting and donating school supplies to communities and schools in need. By providing essential learning materials, we can help remove barriers to education and support girls in reaching their full potential. This hands-on service project empowers participants to turn learning into action and make a meaningful impact on the lives of other girls.
By participating in this event, girls will:
- Understand the meaning of gender equality and why it matters.
- Identify barriers that can limit girls' access to education.
- Recognize the benefits of ensuring girls have equal access to educational opportunities.
- Explore ways they can take action to support girls' education and empowerment in their communities and beyond.
- Contribute to a school supply donation effort that supports students and schools with limited resources.
Together, we will celebrate the power of girls, learn from one another, and discover how investing in girls' education helps create a stronger future for everyone.
Lunch is included with registration. Please pack a water bottle.

- This is a drop-off event. We will provide enough supervision to cover safety ratios. Registrants are required to complete an Authorized Pick Up form.
- Event capacity is very limited. Registration will close when capacity is met.

If you cannot attend a Girl Scouts of Colorado event, please cancel allowing another Girl Scout to take your spot! Full refunds will be given up to two weeks before the registration deadline, partial refunds (minus a $5 processing fee) will be given within two weeks of the deadline, and no refunds will be given after the registration deadline.
