Girl Scouts will participate in a community ROAR National Walk and help create The Empty Chair Experience by collecting photographs and stories that honor older loved ones.
Girl Scouts who register sign up can:
- Design signs and help prepare a community awareness event.
- Learn, through age-appropriate activities, why ROAR is advocating for quality long-term care and how young people can make a positive difference.
- Connect with older adults, caregivers, families, and community members through storytelling.
- Practice leadership, teamwork, service, empathy, and civic engagement.
- Earn the exclusive 2026 ROAR National Walk commemorative patch.
A pre-walk meeting to discuss additional details will be scheduled closer to the walk.
All attending Girl Scouts are encouraged to bring pictures and gather stories from their older loved ones.
Girl Scouts should wear a yellow shirt and their Girl Scout vest or sash.

This is a troop event. All girls must attend with their troop or if they are a Juliette, we may do our best to pair you and your caregiver with another attending troop.

This is a family event. Any family members of a current girl scout member may attend.
