The seniors from troop 65573 will share their Silver Award: The Healthy Hero Project, focused on promoting healthier food choices and making nutritious options more accessible and appealing to kids!
Many school-going children today regularly eat unhealthy foods-like frozen meals, packaged snacks, sugary drinks, and fast food, which are often high in sugar, sodium, and unhealthy fats, while lacking important nutrients like fiber, protein, and vitamins that are needed for healthy growth. Unhealthy foods are convenient, affordable, and designed to appeal to kids with fun packaging and bold flavors. But over time, the impact on children's health and development can be significant.
This event will include fun and educational games and activities to educate children on the importance of making healthy eating decisions.
Registration fee includes a copy of the Silver Award cookbook, a Healthy Hero Project fun patch, and tasting of healthy, delicious recipes!
- Walk-Up registrations will be accepted at this event. Priority will go to those who have pre-registered. First come first serve.
- Other: This is a family event. Any family members of a current girl scout member may attend.
