Please join us for a day of training and community! The GSCO Volunteer Academy offers fun and informative required trainings and enrichment courses that will support and enhance your volunteer experience! In these classes, you will learn skills and tips on how to best work with the girls in your troop and create unforgettable Girl Scout experiences! This is also a great opportunity to make valuable connections within your GSCO community! Feel free to join for 1 course, 2 courses or a full day of courses! Don't forget to check the GSCO calendar for simultaneous girl programming running at this event!
Courses include:
- American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA - Earn your 2 year American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificate! Online pre-work required prior to classroom portion. This session is a skill check.
- Build Your Own Resume - This training helps Girl Scout troop leaders turn the skills and experiences they've gained through volunteering into strong, professional resume content.
- Create an Inclusive Troop - This training gives Girl Scout troop leaders practical ideas and tools for creating a troop where every girl feels welcomed, included, and supported.
- Daisy/Brownie Program Level - Your ticket to a super successful Daisy or Brownie troop! Learn how to structure a meeting and find the right resources to jump-start your Girl Scout year in this hands-on training required for new and bridging leaders.
- Girl Scout Traditions and Ceremonies - Dive into the heart of Girl Scout heritage with our Traditions and Ceremonies Volunteer Enrichment! Explore the timeless significance and rich history of ceremonies in Girl Scouting, embracing the traditions that have shaped our movement.
- Global and Travel - Learn about the essentials for safe and responsible travel with your Girl Scouts, from local to global experiences!
- GSCO History Center - This class provides a deeper look into GS History, exploring what has shaped our organization over time. Participants will also learn how to access and use the resources available at the GSCO History Center in Loveland to continue exploring GS history and plan a trip to the center with their own Girl Scouts!
- GSUSA Program Updates Roundtable - Learn about and discuss new program offerings from GSUSA including new leadership awards, prerequisites for highest awards and more!
- Highest Awards Roundtable - Take a seat with our Highest Awards expert! Learn the process and the benefits of taking your Girl Scout through the highest award challenge to build their leadership skills and confidence while earning the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. Suitable for volunteers working with Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors.
- Juliette Mentor Meet-Up - An opportunity for Juliette Mentors to meet, share ideas and make connections.
- Multilevel Troop Management - Learn how to successfully manage a troop that serves two or more program levels with confidence!
- New Leader/Alumni Meet-Up - Are you a new leader trying to find your footing? Or a Girl Scout Alumnus wanting to stay involved in the community? Join this meetup to make connections and explore your role in Girl Scouting!
- Service Unit Roundtable - Come share ideas and learn from other service unit volunteers about planning your year, increasing volunteer involvement and supporting troops. Great for current unit volunteers or those interested in becoming more active in their service unit.
- Songs and Games - This session on Songs and Games offers practical insights into effectively teaching songs and orchestrating games with Girl Scouts. Learn valuable techniques for classroom management through the power of music and play, equipping you to impart these skills with enthusiasm and confidence. No need for a professional singing voice - just bring yourself and your passion for passing down traditions and memorable moments to the next generation.
- Tips & Tricks - Bridging to Older Girls - This short training helps troop leaders understand what keeps older Girl Scouts engaged and gives practical strategies for making the older program levels feel relevant, exciting, and worth sticking around for.
- Tips & Tricks - Family Engagement - This short training shares simple, effective ways to build strong family involvement and create a more connected, supportive Girl Scout troop community.
- Tips & Tricks - Leadership Awards - This short training introduces the basics of Girl Scout leadership awards and helps troop leaders understand how to guide girls through the process in fun, meaningful, and age-appropriate ways.
- Tips & Tricks - Make Meeting Magic - Feeling stuck on what to do next with your troop or how to connect your Girl Scouts' interests to activities? Looking for how to make things more girl-led? Would you like to just come see what other troops are up to?

Tips & Tricks - Rallyhood - This short training introduces Rallyhood, GSCO's recommended platform for troop communication, and walks troop leaders through the key features that make it easier to stay connected with families in one place

Tips & Tricks - Troop of Excellence - This short training walks troop leaders through the Troop of Excellence criteria, helping them understand what's expected, recognize what their troop is already doing well, and identify areas to strengthen.

Youth Mental Health First Aid - Youth Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen without judgement and give reassurance to a youth who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.
Feel free to bring snacks and/or lunch and a refillable water bottle.
Girl programming and girl training will also be available at this event! Check the GSCO calendar for girl offerings!

If you cannot attend a Girl Scouts of Colorado event, please cancel to allow another Girl Scout to take your spot! Full refunds will be given up to two weeks before the registration deadline, partial refunds (minus a $5 processing fee) will be given within two weeks of the deadline, and no refunds will be given after the registration deadline.
