Please join us for a day of training and community! The GSCO Volunteer Academy offers fun and informative required trainings and enrichment courses that will support and enhance your volunteer experience! In these classes, you will learn skills and tips on how to best work with the girls in your troop and create unforgettable Girl Scout experiences! This is also a great opportunity to make valuable connections within your GSCO community! Feel free to join for 1 course, 2 courses or a full day of courses!  Don't forget to check the GSCO calendar for simultaneous girl programming running at this event! 

Courses include:

  • American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA - Earn your 2 year American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certificate!  Online pre-work required prior to classroom portion.  This session is a skill check.
  • Create an Inclusive Troop - This training gives Girl Scout troop leaders practical ideas and tools for creating a troop where every girl feels welcomed, included, and supported. 
  • Daisy/Brownie Program Level - Your ticket to a super successful Daisy or Brownie troop! Learn how to structure a meeting and find the right resources to jump-start your Girl Scout year in this hands-on training required for new and bridging leaders.
  • Girl Scout Traditions and Ceremonies - Dive into the heart of Girl Scout heritage with our Traditions and Ceremonies Volunteer Enrichment! Explore the timeless significance and rich history of ceremonies in Girl Scouting, embracing the traditions that have shaped our movement.
  • Highest Awards Roundtable - Take a seat with our Highest Awards expert! Learn the process and the benefits of taking your Girl Scout through the highest award challenge to build their leadership skills and confidence while earning the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. Suitable for volunteers working with Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors.
  • Tips & Tricks - Bridging to Older Girls - This short training helps troop leaders understand what keeps older Girl Scouts engaged and gives practical strategies for making the older program levels feel relevant, exciting, and worth sticking around for.
  • Tips & Tricks - Family Engagement - This short training shares simple, effective ways to build strong family involvement and create a more connected, supportive Girl Scout troop community.
  • Tips & Tricks - Leadership Awards - This short training introduces the basics of Girl Scout leadership awards and helps troop leaders understand how to guide girls through the process in fun, meaningful, and age-appropriate ways.
  • Tips & Tricks - Make Meeting Magic - Feeling stuck on what to do next with your troop or how to connect your Girl Scouts' interests to activities? Looking for how to make things more girl-led? Would you like to just come see what other troops are up to?

    Troop volunteers, come meet in person for a hands-on planning session led by an experienced Mentor Trainer. You'll collaborate with other volunteer leaders, explore ready-to-use activity ideas, clarify logistics, and walk away with a complete plan for your upcoming meetings. Whether you're brand new or looking for fresh inspiration, this guided workshop takes the stress out of planning and helps you feel confident, prepared, and excited for what's next with your troop.

  • Tips & Tricks - Troop Finances - This short training gives troop leaders strategies for managing troop money with confidence: organizing receipts, tracking expenses with a spreadsheet, keeping finances transparent and accessible to your troop, and getting Girl Scouts involved in the budgeting process. Come ready to share what's working for you and leave with ideas you haven't tried yet.

Feel free to bring snacks and/or lunch and a refillable water bottle.

Girl programming and girl training will also be available at this event! Check the GSCO calendar for girl offerings!

If you cannot attend a Girl Scouts of Colorado event, please cancel to allow another Girl Scout to take your spot! Full refunds will be given up to two weeks before the registration deadline, partial refunds (minus a $5 processing fee) will be given within two weeks of the deadline, and no refunds will be given after the registration deadline.
