The primary purpose of this American Red Cross Babysitter's Training and Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid Training course is to provide youth planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibily care for children and infants. This training will help participants develop leadership skills; learn how to create a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave; and learn about basic childcare and Adult & Pediatric first aid/AED and CPR.
Course Details:
Duration: Full-day session (bring a sack lunch, water bottle, snacks, and note-taking supplies)
Each participant must provide a unique email address
Participants receive a digital e-book participant manual, with the option to purchase a physical copy
This course covers 4 of the 5 steps needed to earn the Cadette Babysitter Badge
Certification:
Successful completion results in:
- Red Cross Babysitter's Training certificate (valid 10 years)
- Red Cross Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid certificate (valid 2 years)
Girls must provide their own unique email address when registering (do not use a school email address or caregiver's email address).
A hardcopy Babysitting Manual is available for purchase for $18.00
Before this event, please take the time to review the Girl Scouts of Colorado's Internet Safety Pledge, and then virtually sign it with your girl. As always, safety is a top priority at Girl Scouts of Colorado, and we want to ensure she is staying safe while online.
- Event capacity is very limited. Registration will close when capacity is met.
- Financial Aid is available for members only. Membership will be verified before approval for gsEvents Financial Aid requests.
- This is not a drop-off event. All girls must be accompanied by their caregiver or attend with their troop. Adult safety ratios must be followed. Please refer to Volunteer Essentials.

If you cannot attend a Girl Scouts of Colorado event, please cancel to allow another Girl Scout to take your spot! Full refunds will be given up to two weeks before the registration deadline, partial refunds (minus a $5 processing fee) will be given within two weeks of the deadline, and no refunds will be given after the registration deadline.
