Fairy tales take place in magical wonderlands with fairies, wizards, witches, and other mythical creatures. Have you ever stopped to think about how the landscapes in the stories look? Which colored flowers cover the hills? Which kinds of trees stood tall over the houses, bridges or ponds? Now imagine scaling that down to a miniature landscape mirroring every detail of what you have just pictured - for a beautiful fairy garden!

At this event, Girl Scouts will do just that and flex both their STEM and artistic muscles by creating a fairy garden to add to their outdoor space. Let's hope their creations "attract" fairies to their own gardens!

Registration includes a fun patch.

Fairy Garden supplies list:
1. Outdoor space or floor or counter covered and prepared for working with soil.
2. Hot glue (and an adult to help) liquid glue may be used but you will need to allow dry time.
3. 4-6 craft/popsicle sticks for engineering & building a welcome arch or entry sign for the garden as a group. If you are making a sign, then you will need 1 stick to be broken in half.
4. Paper and marker/crayon for engineering a blueprint of the fairy habitat.
5. Shallow dish or plant pot of your choice, at least 10” diameter, drainage holes preferred.
6. Soil to fill your dish up to 1” below the top edge. Optional: gravel for bottom for drainage.
7. Small variety dwarf annual plants or elfin plants that won’t outgrow your garden.
8. Fairy garden decorations. These can be store bought or crafted by you ahead of time using a variety of craft sticks, twigs, cloth, gemstones, acorn top, seashells, washi tape, pom poms, etc.

This is a virtual event. You will use Zoom to participate.
