Join Danielle Ardrey, Conservation and Youth Education Specialist from the Colorado State Forest Service, in a hands-on virtual series all about trees! This series is especially designed to help you dive into the Girl Scout Tree Promise. The Girl Scout Tree Promise aims to have five million trees planted across the country in five years. More about the Girl Scout Tree Promise can be found here.
People have been writing poems to honor trees since ancient times. Join us as we collect words to express thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about trees. Learn about different types of poems and express your creativity. This activity can also help you with these badges:
- Juniors - Scribe (Start with a Poem)
- Cadettes - Trees (Step 3).
Note: We will be spending time outside during each of these sessions. Girls should gain permission to safely visit a spot with a tree by their home. This event will be hosted on Zoom; the link will be sent the day before or the morning of the event. Girl Scouts can access Zoom on whatever device works best for them. We will take a break away from Zoom to do an activity outside, then come back to share what we did.
All attendees must have a current Girl Scout membership.
There are no refunds for this event.
To participate in the rest of the series, please register for these other two event sessions:
- Girl Scout Tree Promise - The Closer You Look - September 23
- Girl Scout Tree Promise - Discover Diversity - September 30
If you are having trouble completing registration, please contact inquiry@gscolorado.org or 877-404-5708.
