Get ready for a morning of creativity and reflection at Chatfield Farms and learn how to craft a book cover to create your very own nature journal. Explore the natural spaces around Chatfield Farms and use your journal to connect scientific observations with supportive data and illustrations to interact with nature in new ways. This program supports the Cadette Book Artist Badge.

The Gardens aims to provide the opportunity for all families to experience the wonders of nature through hands-on programming. To learn more about the Gardens' Children and Family Programs registration financial assistance program, visit our Financial Assistance Application.

Nature journaling is a practice that encourages close observation of the natural world. Taking notes, collecting measurements and making illustrations are all components of a robust nature journal. This program offers Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors  the opportunity to create a handmade nature journal and learn observational skills to help them study their environment from a fresh perspective.

$14 per Girl Scout; One group leader per five Girl Scouts is admitted free of charge. Additional adults and non-participating siblings are an additional $7 each. Non-participating siblings do not participate in take home activities. Additional adults and non-participating siblings are welcome to join the group during the program or explore the Gardens on their own.
