The ""Let's Go Camping"" course covers the essential front country cooking and camping skills including fire building methods, charcoal/camp stove cooking, outdoor dishwashing and sanitation methods, as well as Girl Scout-specific skills like council safety requirements, programming ideas, and ways to involve caregivers and troop helpers.

Portions of the class will be outside, dress appropriately for the weather. Layers are recommended. You will be cooking lunch as part of the class. Bring a water bottle and plenty of drinking water. You may also bring a camp chair. Be sure to bring a mess kit. Although many types are available for purchase, a non-breakable plate, cup, bowl, and silverware in a mesh bag are fine as well.

  • Event capacity is very limited. Registration will close when capacity is met.

  • The "Let's Go Camping" online pre-work must be done prior to the in-person course. This course is available on GSLearn. Your instructor will reach out with more information prior to the course.
