Girl Scouts have the opportunity to join in on CSU Spur's "Going Global" event during their October Dia de Los Muertos Second Saturday fun AND get their own program passport and fun patch!

A Global Adventure Awaits at CSU Spur! Girl Scout Day is lighting up the CSU Spur campus during its vibrant Second Saturday celebration, themed around Día de los Muertos. This year's focus-"Going Global"-takes Girl Scouts on a journey through science, culture, and creativity spread across interactive stations built just for them. It's a celebration of curiosity, cultural connection, and the impact young minds can have on a global scale.

Experience the World Through Science:

  • Get immersed in discovery with activities that highlight global connections and environmental impact:
  • Taste Explorations: Sample international sauces while exploring sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami flavors.
  • Horse History & Therapy: Walk through an equine timeline that uncovers the story of horses and equine-assisted healing practices.
  • Global Fossil Hunt: Splash into hands-on learning at the stream table while uncovering fossils from around the world.
  • Planet Mural Project: Collaborate on a vibrant mural featuring plants and animals from every continent.
  • River Life & Water Quality: Study macro-invertebrates from the South Platte River to understand global ecosystems.
  • Water Wisdom Demo: Discover why Earth's freshwater is precious and limited through an engaging presentation.
  • Pollinators Across Cultures: Explore the relationships between pollinators and food systems around the world.

Note: Activities may evolve-just like great adventures do!
