Volunteer training events are offered statewide at different times during the year, offering classes to meet the needs and support the success of our volunteers. The events will include a variety of classes and time and opportunities to connect with your peers and share ideas and Girl Scout experiences.

2020 Virtual Leadership Summits

Level up your Girl Scout leadership skills at Girl Scouts of Colorado's first Virtual Leadership Summits! You will explore topics to help you engage, support, and grow your troop while connecting with other volunteers across the state. We will have a combination of live and recorded sessions offered multiple times to meet your scheduling needs.   

Virtual Leadership Summits will be held on the following dates:

November 6- 8

Welcome and introductions 
Girl Scout Promise & Law

9 a.m. Global Girl Scout Roundtable
Join us to learn how to enhance Girl Scout’s global experience with activities relating to global related awards and an introduction to other Global programs for girls at every grade level.

10:30 a.m. Clique Proof Your Troop
Learn practical ways to build a positive, clique-free culture in both an online and in-person setting and make the Girl Scout experience the best it can be for the whole troop.  

1 p.m. Virtual Troop Meetings 101
Can’t meet in-person right now? Bring Girl Scouts to your girls! Learn tips and best practices for keeping your troop meetings running smoothly.

2:30 p.m. Closing Ceremony
Join us as we reflect on the day and get your last-minute questions answered. Participate in a virtual Friendship Circle!  

gsLearn
Take your Girl Scout learning experience to the next level with gsLearn, our online training forum. Courses can be completed whenever, wherever to make the most of your volunteer experience. We will be offering new courses during the Leadership Summit to compliment the live sessions.

Conflict Management
Learn how to manage conflict within your troop dynamics. Gain a knowledge of different techniques to mediate conflict between everyone from girls in your troop to volunteer-parent conflict.

Engaging Families
Family involvement in your troop is essential to your troop success. Learn how to best engage those families through different mediums and be able to figure out what will work best for your troop.

Global Girl Scouts 
It’s a big world! What better was to explore it that through Girl Scouting?! Interest in the world has been a part of Girl Scout’s program since the very beginning! Learn how Girl Scout’s goes global in this quick online course!

Quiet signs, secret handshakes, and SWAPS might sound like there are from a spy movie, but they are actually long-standing Girl Scouts traditions! Learn the history and importance of incorporating traditions and ceremonies into your Girl Scout meetings and activities.

10:30 a.m. Membership Connections Committee roundtable

1 p.m. STEM Leader Lab
Want your troop more involved with STEM? Dive into the new badges and activities Girl Scouts has available. Strengthen your skills and readiness to lead STEM related activities.

Girl Scout troops are all about making new friends! Discover activities that set the tone for your troop, have some fun and help girls get to know one another.

1 p.m. Troop Finances
Helping girls decide what they want to do and coaching them as they earn and manage money to pursue their goals is an integral part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). Learn how to connect the Girl Scout program to the financial progression chart.

2:30 p.m. Closing Ceremony
