Volunteer training events are offered statewide at different times during the year, offering classes to meet the needs and support the success of our volunteers. The events will include a variety of classes and time and opportunities to connect with your peers and share ideas and Girl Scout experiences.

2020 Virtual Leadership Summits

Level up your Girl Scout leadership skills at Girl Scouts of Colorado's first Virtual Leadership Summits! You will explore topics to help you engage, support, and grow your troop while connecting with other volunteers across the state. We will have a combination of live and recorded sessions offered multiple times to meet your scheduling needs. You can pick and choose dates across multiple weekends or attend events on consecutive days, whatever works for your schedule!

Virtual Leadership Summit courses will be held on the following dates:

September 8-11 (Tuesday-Thursday)

September 18- 20 (Friday-Sunday)

September 25-27 (Friday-Sunday)

November 6- 8 (Friday-Sunday)

Tuesday Course Offerings

Clique Proof Your Troop
10 a.m.

Learn practical ways to build a positive, clique-free culture in both an online and in-person setting and make the Girl Scout experience the best it can be for the whole troop.

Virtual Troop Meetings 101
7 p.m.

Can’t meet in-person right now? Bring Girl Scouts to your girls! Learn tips and best practices for keeping your troop meetings running smoothly.

Wednesday Course Offerings

Girl Scout Ceremonies & Traditions
10 a.m.

Quiet signs, secret handshakes, and SWAPS might sound like there are from a spy movie, but they are actually long-standing Girl Scouts traditions! Learn the history and importance of incorporating traditions and ceremonies into your Girl Scout meetings and activities.

Global Girl Scout Roundtable

7 p.m.
Troop leaders and parents are invited to learn how to enhance Girl Scout’s global experience with an introduction to Global programs for girls at every grade level and activities relating to Global related awards

Girl Scout troops are all about making new friends! Discover activities that set the tone for your troop, have some fun and help girls get to know one another.

Membership Connections Committee roundtable
7 p.m.

Join the Membership Connection Committee (MCC) to learn about maintaining the membership voice in governing Girl Scouts of Colorado.  Hosted by GSCO's MCC and the Chairperson of Membership, this interactive group discussion will include elements from the GSUSA National Council Session to explore how we can successfully keep up with the speed of 21st century girls.

Join us for a Q and A with product program experts and get a sneak peek at Fall Product and Girl Scout Cookie Program mascots and girl rewards!

We’ll talk about what girls like about the programs, what they learn by participating and how volunteers and families can best support their experience. You’ll also get tips on how to manage each program, how to access relevant the training and resources, and how to connect with key volunteers in your area.

Troop Finances
1 p.m.
 
Helping girls decide what they want to do and coaching them as they earn and manage money to pursue their goals is an integral part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). Learn how to connect the Girl Scout program to the financial progression chart.
