Learning how to become an archer is a step-by-step method: nock the arrow, draw the bow, aim, and finally shoot. With some patience, that perfect shot (or even hitting the target), can be reached!

Whether you are new to archery or already have some experience under your belt, join fellow Girl Scouts at Mueller State Park's archery range! This range does not have a sun shelter, so make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen. Choose either the morning or afternoon session and bring a picnic lunch for Girl Scouts to enjoy and be sure to save some time to explore the park! State Park entrance cost not included.

Mueller State Park is located on Colorado Highway 67, 3.5 miles south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 24 in Divide.

State Park staff will cover all steps of the Cadette Archery Badge (badge is included):

  • Get to know archery equipment
  • Learn about archery safety
  • Practice archery before you go out on the range
  • Shoot on an archery range
  • Create an archery challenge

All Girl Scouts attending this event can earn the Girl Scouts of Colorado State Park Patch. By visiting the park for this event, your Girl Scout will have earned the main patch for this program! If she's already earned the main patch, she can check off one more park and set a goal to get to five, 10 or 15! Patch and rockers will need to be purchased separately through the GSCO shop.

Two sessions to choose from: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 1 - 3 p.m. This is the 1 p.m. session.
*Please note that if session capacities are not met, session will be combined to just the morning session.

Arrive early if you need to purchase a $10 day pass at the Visitor Center , fill up your water bottle, or use the flush restrooms prior to the class. We will meet at Dragonfly Pond parking lot. This is the first parking lot on your right after you enter the park. A Mueller staff member will be at the lot 15 minutes before the start time to show you where to go. Benches and a vault toilet will be available nearby during the program. All sun protection and water should be brought with you.
