Join us for a day on the water at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood! Practice your canoe and kayak paddling skills, play games, and enjoy fun in the sun. Girls will learn all the basics of paddling, including how to property fit a PFD, what to watch for on the water and have plenty of time for splashing around and playing boat games on the water.

All girls will get to canoe, and potentially also kayak depending on group size, program level and ability. We have limited number of kayaks for juniors and above, as well as paddleboards that are only available at the end of the day depending on group ability, your instructor will share more with you upon arrival.

Each session has a minimum capacity of 6 girls and 2 adults and a maximum capacity of 14 girls and 17 total participants. We can only accommodate one troop per session.

This is not a drop off event, all Girl Scouts must attend with their troop. Girl to adult ratios for events should be met. No tagalongs. All child and adult attendees agree to follow the most current GSCO COVID -19 guidelines in relation to in - person events and have completed a COVID-19 waiver. All participants must have a current Girl Scout membership.

The instructor will require assistance loading and unloading boats. Ideally, we need at least one adult attending the program to be able to lift up to 30 lbs. above their head to help unload boats. If this is not possible, please let us know after registering.

Registration will officially close when capacity is met or two weeks prior to each event date.
