Basic Horsemanship Training
Because COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines can vary depending on counties, GSCO advises troops to check with their local county health authorities prior to holding meetings, activities, or events.
*Please note this event is not hosted by GSCO*
Girl Scout Juniors are invited to earn their Horsemanship Badge with Reining Heroes. To earn your badge, you will learn basic horsemanship skills, such as catching, haltering, leading, and grooming. You will learn safety procedures, horse body language, and arena manners. Then, you will enjoy riding a horse in a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment. Classes are held either indoor or outdoor, based on the weather. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and physical activity, and wear close-toed footwear. Helmets will be provided.
The instructor, Paula Quillen, has 40 years of experience as a horsewoman, including more than 15 years as a Certified Riding Instructor.
The optimal size for a group is from five to 10. However, due to the COVID-19 situation, we recommend that troop leaders and parents use their judgement and discretion when determining the number of Girl Scouts to attend. We follow social distancing and other COVID-19 guidelines.
Registration will close when capacity is met. For registration, payment, and additional information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 303-877-0371.
Registration includes permissions, waivers, and photo releases. You can expect to hear back within three business days.
NOTE: Class tuition is payable to Reining Heroes, Inc.
