Endowment Challenge

Endowment Challenge Campaign:  A Legacy of Leadership

Simply put, an endowment puts savings and investments to work, generating interest income for operations that is intended to last forever. A strong endowment enables GSCO to meet current and future program needs, maintain a stable funding stream despite fluctuations in the economy, lower our dependence on the cookie sale and have the ability to respond to immediate or emergency needs, such as natural disasters that impact our camps.

In December 2013, Girl Scouts of Colorado received a $25,000 lead gift to establish the Rae Ann and Richard E. Dougherty Look Wider International Travel Fund. This fund was combined with council-held endowment funds to establish the Girl Scouts of Colorado Endowment at Rose Community Foundation in Denver. Our endowment generates annual income to meet ongoing expenses, cover capital needs, provide travel scholarships and/or fund special projects and programs.

Help us raise $500,000 by September 30, 2014 to ensure the long-term strength and stability of Girl Scouts of Colorado.
