Get started Volunteering

As a volunteer, you'll introduce girls to new experiences that show them they're capable of more than they ever imagined.

You'll be their cheerleader, guide, and mentor, helping them develop skills and confidence that will last long after the meeting is over. Imagine the smiles, the excitement, the memories made--those are the moments you'll share at Girl Scouts.

Be the role model she'll always remember.

Getting started

Please read instructions carefully and complete all steps.

We ask every volunteer who spends 3+ sessions with girls, who handles troop money,  or who goes on an overnight trip with girls to become an approved volunteer.

To volunteer with Girl Scouts of Colorado:

1. Volunteer Application. Available online or in paper form, this is how you tell us a little bit about yourself and your volunteer interests.

2. Background Check. For the safety of our girls. The fee is $12, and financial assistance is available. You'll need this code: 16305-56161-128764-5DC9 to enter the background check portal. (Note: copying and pasting the access code in Internet Explorer does not work; you will either need to type the code directly into the background check portal or use a different internet browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari).

3. Membership Registration. We welcome every volunteer to be a member of Girl Scouts!  There is an annual fee of $15, due every year on or before October 1. Volunteer approval will not be given until we receive a paid membership registration. Thank you for your support!

New Volunteer Interview. Upon completion of the steps above, a Girl Scouts of Colorado representative will reach out to new volunteers for a 30 minute interview and conversation about Girl Scout volunteering.

Training. Upon appointment, Girl Scouts of Colorado volunteers are welcome to attend one of the many professional and fun trainings provided by Council staff and volunteer trainers. For a preview of what trainings area available, please visit the Adult Learning page.
