Adult Recognitions

Adult Recognitions

Girl Scouting happens 12 months of the year. Our volunteers contribute an invaluable service and we want to make it easy to recognize them for their contributions.

Recognitions show appreciation to a person for the work he or she has done concerning Girl Scouting. They can come in many forms, ranging from informal words of appreciation, a plaque, purchasing a lifetime membership, a small gift certificate to the Girl Scout Shop or one of the recognitions that require council approval. (View this list for some creative ways to say 'thank you')

GSUSA revised the adult awards to meet the needs of the volunteer roles that emerged to support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and implementation of pathways.

Any individual, parent, self-nomination or Girl Scout (troop, service unit or council staff) may nominate volunteers for recognitions.
Girl Scouts of Colorado have set aside two dates each year for nominations to be received;  March 1 and July 1. The Recognition Packet will direct you to recognitions that need council approval for questions contact Bertha Koch at bertha.koch@gscolorado.org.

Volunteers recognizing volunteers is one of the best ways to encourage people and to make them feel they are appreciated
