Adult Recognitions

Formal volunteer recognitions are for currently registered Girl Scouts volunteers who give outstanding service above and beyond their volunteer position description. Any Girl Scout troop, service unit or council, or an individual, such as a parent, can nominate a volunteer for an award.

Nomination Process
  1. Carefully review the criteria for each award below, or download the full packet above. Each award is designed to recognize a specific scope, type and length of service to Girl Scouts. Choosing the right award is crucial to a successful nomination.
  2. Gather committments from Girl Scout affiliates who can endorse the nomination. Refer to the criteria for information on the number of letters of endorsement required for each award.
  3. Submit the required forms on or before March 31. Submissions are reviewed by a committee of Girl Scouts of Colorado volunteers and staff during the month of April.

Volunteer of Excellence

Recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience directly to girls OR to aid GSCO in fullfuling its mission and goals. 2 letters of endorsement required.

Appreciation Pin      

The Appreciation Pin recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), which has had measurable impact on at least one area of service allowing the council to reach and surpasses its mission-delivery goals. 2 letters of endorsement required.

Honor Pin

The Honor Pin recognizes an individual’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), which has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service, allowing the council to reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals. 3 letters of endorsement required.

Thanks Badge

The Thanks Badge honors an individual whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission delivery goals and priorities of the entire council or the entire Girl Scout Movement. 4 letters of endorsement required.

Thanks Badge ii

The Thanks Badge II honors a previous Thanks Badge recipient who has continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role, resulting in a measurable impact that benefits the total council or entire Girl Scout Movement. 4 letters of endorsement required.

Presidents Award

The President’s Award recognizes the efforts of a service-delivery team or committee whose exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience surpassed team goals and resulted in significant, measurable impact toward reaching the council’s overall goals. 2 letters of endorsement required.
