Program

The goal of all programming is to develop leadership skills in girls through hands-on, girl-led activities. The three keys to girl leadership are:

  • Discover: Girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world.
  • Connect: Girls care about, inspire and team with others locally and globally.
  • Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place.

The Girl Scouts of Colorado programming model is designed to ensure we achieve clear outcomes with our girls, and that all girls in Colorado have equal access to programming opportunities.  The Program Services Team works with volunteers across the state to provide events and series programs in their communities.  With this approach, we meet the needs of local communities and extend our programming to all corners of the state.  If you are interested in helping coordinate an event or series program, please contact us at programs@gscolorado.org.

Girl Scout Voices

All Girl Scout experiences are intentionally designed to tie to one or more of the 15 national leadership outcomes, or benefits, categorized under the three keys to leadership. As part of the Girl Scouts of Colorado programming model, achievement of outcomes is measured through an online data collection system created to consistently assess girls’ progress toward the realization of the program benefits/outcomes across the nation.  This provides girls the opportunity to respond to age-appropriate surveys for the program opportunities in which they participate.  Review and analysis of their responses provides Girl Scouts with solid evidence of whether we are keeping our promise to girls, how to serve girls better as well as how to better support volunteers. The evidence allows us to speak in one unified voice to current and potential members and to other stakeholders.
