We believe every Girl Scout in Colorado should have an opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts regardless of her family’s economic situation.
Our girls and families have a strong sense of ownership and pride in our Girl Scout programs, and, therefore, we ask our families to contribute a portion of the fee/cost. Assistance provided may be 10-80 percent of the fee based upon family size and gross income, as well as the availability of funds. We use the 2013 income limits developed by the Department of Housing and Urban Renewal Income Limits System for the State of Colorado (http://www.huduser.org/portal/datasets/il/il13/index.html).The amount of Cookie Credits the girl has earned and special circumstances of the family are also taken into consideration.
Information that you submit is strictly confidential. This form should be completed by a parent or guardian. Please complete one form for each girl. Grants are not available to help with the cost of a troop or group reserving a Girl Scout property, or attending an out of state camp.
Each girl is eligible for one Opportunity Grant for overnight or day camp per year and one shop purchase. There is no limit on training, events or series. Grant awards cannot be transferred or held for a subsequent year. Assistance granted does not guarantee placement in an event, series, travel experience or camp.
Your completed request for assistance will be reviewed and we will notify you of the outcome within 5 days by email or mail, depending upon your request.
