Girl Scouts is celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2012, and one of the many ways GSUSA is marking this historic event is by refreshing the look of program handbooks and badges. The new national Girl Scout Program of Books & Badges is more contemporary, fun, exciting and engaging for girls and leaders.
GSUSA has combined the tradition of legacy badgework with contemporary topics. The new books and badges will be phased in between September 2011 and June 2012. The first shipment of the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting arrived in October 2011, and the updated, fun badge and award activities come in spring 2012, along with a revised handbook section.
The Girls Guides are in higher demand than anticipated nationwide, and the Girl Scouts of Colorado is doing all that we can to meet our customers' demands. We appreciate your patience as we all await arrival of these great new program materials from GSUSA.
All current badges and program books at all levels for girls and leaders are being retired except for the Journey books and awards. GSCO plans to have enough badges and program handbooks for girls to complete their activities this year. Every effort will be made to get the merchandise needed.
We will continue to carry these resources in the GSCO online shop and service center shops and do all we can to order items you need. To manage inventories through the transition period, as of May 1, 2011, Girl Scouts of Colorado shops cannot accept returns or give refunds on existing Try-Its, Badges, Interest Project Awards, Badge Books, Handbooks and Leader Guides.
