Girl Scout Activity Insurance

Basic Plan

Every registered member of Girl Scouts (girls and adults) is automatically covered under the Basic Activity Accident Insurance Plan which covers any approved and supervised Girl Scout activity up to two consecutive nights in length (up to three consecutive nights when one of the nights is a federal holiday).  This plan does not include sickness coverage.
Description of Coverage

When do you need additional insurance?

Additional insurance coverage is recommended when:

• non-members will be participating in a Girl Scout activity.  See Plan 2 below.
• you want to add sickness coverage for an activity up to two consecutive nights in length.  See Plan 3E below.
• you're planning a trip of three consecutive nights or longer.  See Plan 3E below. (includes sickness coverage)
• you're planning an international trip.  See Plan 3PI below.

Purchase Additional Insurance

For Overnight & Extended Trips: Trip Advisors will be contacted about the insurance options for your trip once you have submitted the Travel & High Risk Activity Application to your membership manager and it has been approved.

Plan 2: Accident Insurance

Plan 2 coverage is identical to the Basic Plan, but it provides coverage for non-members for approved and supervised Girl Scout activities up to two consecutive nights in length (three consecutive nights when one of the nights is a federal holiday).

Cost: Approx. $0.11 per participant, per calendar day (minimum premium charge of $5.00)

Description of Coverage

Plan 3E: Accident & Sickness Insurance

Plans 3E provides accident and sickness coverage for all participants (members and nonmembers) for approved and supervised Girl Scout activities.  Coverage begins on the first day of the activity to be covered and will end on the termination date of the activity as shown on the Enrollment Form.  This plan also covers travel directly to and from the activity.

Plan 3E Cost: Approx. $0.29 per person, per calendar day (minimum premium charge of $5.00)

Description of Coverage

Plan 3PI: Accident & Sickness Insurance for International Trips

Plan 3PI is a comprehensive travel insurance package combining accident and sickness insurance with emergency travel assistance service. The Nonduplication Provision does not apply.

Plan 3PI includes the same coverage as Plan 3P, but with a Travel Assistance Service “safety net” feature added.  Should a medical or other emergency occur while abroad or if there are concerns before making a trip abroad, the Council or group volunteer is a free telephone call away from mobilizing AXA Assistance resources to provide “hands on” assistance.

Cost: Approx. $1.17 per person, per calendar day (minimum premium charge of $5.00)
