Training Resources

As a Girl Scouts of Colorado volunteer, you will receive specialized training, ongoing support and education from the Council. Your Girl Scout education is progressive and ongoing so that you may further develop skills, prepare for positions requiring increased responsibility, plan for entry into the job market and increase personal awareness and growth.

New Volunteer Leaders/Co-leaders/Assistant Leaders/Advisors

All new troop leaders, co-leaders, assistant leaders, advisors, etc. are required to take a total of two training classes. All leaders must complete Orientation and Leadership Essentials within three months of starting with the troop. Classes will be scheduled starting July, 2008. After May 15, check back on the Girl Scouts of Colorado Web site for more details.

Volunteers Moving to a New/Different Program Level (Leaders/Co-leaders/Assistant Leaders/Advisors)

All previously leader-trained troop/group leaders, co-leaders, assistant leaders, advisors, etc. moving to a new/different program level are required to complete "Leadership Essentials." This course will be available starting July 2008. After May 15, check back on the Girl Scouts of Colorado Web site for more details.

Other Girl Scout Adult Volunteers

Starting Fall 2008, all volunteers will be asked to take an on-line or "CD" Orientation to Girl Scouting. Additional training will be provided based on your volunteer position.
