Girls: Become a Girl Scouts of Colorado Media Star

Do you dream of being a star? If you are in 4th grade and above, then we have the opportunity for you! Get trained to become a Girl Scouts of Colorado Media Star.

Before the Cookie Activity each January, Girl Scouts of Colorado would like to train girls from all areas of the state to be Media Stars and help deliver the excitement about this anticipated time of this year to area TV and radio stations, as well as newspapers. These spokesgirls will go on to help with other Girl Scouts of Colorado media interviews throughout the year.

How to get involved

The 2009/2010 contest to select this year's Media Stars is over. However, if you are still interested in participating in this program this year, please contact Amanda K. at 303-607-4844 or 1-866-827-7033. We are still in need of spokesgirls from throughout the state, especially for the cookie activity, so please get in touch with us if you are interested! Please include your first and last name, troop number if applicable, the town you reside in, your e-mail address and your phone number with your correspondence with us.

Thank you to those who applied!

Congrats to all the girls who will be serving as a Girl Scouts of Colorado Media Star for 2009/2010. See some of the entries from this year's contest!

The Media Star program is replacing our traditional Cookie Media Training event held in December. Media Stars will still be trained for their role, but in a different method, with multiple options for participation.

If you aren’t in 4th grade yet, but are interested in this program, keep it in mind as a great incentive for advancing to the next Girl Scout level.

Thank you for your interest in Girl Scouts of Colorado's Media Star program!

Information in Spanish - still need girls who can speak Spanish to serve as Media Stars. Contact Amanda K. if you are interested.
