Responsibilities and Policies
Responsibilities at the Training Site
Community facilities are often used to make training accessible for our diverse population. Often a religious facility, school, recreation center or library will host a Girl Scout training.
A training executive will discuss the training site with you in advance. Arrangements may need to be made to pick up building keys.
Trainer responsibilities for the site are:
- Arrive 30 minutes early and post signs as necessary.
- Arrange room in a comfortable way to meet the training needs. Note the original furniture arrangement and have participants help you return the room to its original arrangement.
- Place attendance cards, name tags and participant materials in a place for participants to easily collect.
- Greet participants as they arrive and/or get them started on an activity.
- Deliver a training that covers the outline’s material and meets the needs of the participants.
- Pack all materials and leave the room clean and neat.
- Return attendance cards, evaluations and, if appropriate, money to the service center as soon as possible or within one week.
- When possible, make arrangements with the other trainers that will be at the same site to share in the picking up of and returning of the training materials.
- Stay until all participants have left site.
- Make sure the facility is secured appropriately.
Training Course Cancellations
Occasionally courses are cancelled due to low enrollment or weather conditions. If this happens, the trainer will be notified as soon as possible.
If a trainer must cancel, notify a training executive as soon as possible. It is best to make personal contact and not leave a voice mail message or e-mail, particularly if the class is scheduled be begin within 48 hours.
