Event Name: Synchronized Swimming Fun Day
Type: Council Events
Theme: Healthy Living
Audience(s): Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador
Description:

WHO: Girls ages 7 - 18 years (must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted)

Do you like music and performing?  Do you enjoy swimming?  Then you could be a synchronized swimmer! Discover the new Olympic sport of synchronized swimming by watching a cool video.  Then join old friends and new on teams led by the high school team members and coaches of the Rocky Mountain Splash Synchronized Swim Team (www.rmsplash.org). This is the perfect activity for those swimmers who want to continue their aquatic skills beyond stroke and racing training.  You'll discover competition requirements, swimmer safety, and learn synchro basics - and amaze new friends and old with your new knowledge and skills!

Design a flashy or sparkly swimsuit for a competition.  Have the Splash girls put on your make-up for your upcoming performance.  Then learn from the Splash girls how they keep their hair perfect in and out of the water, and try it on your own hair.
Hint:  You can eat it!

Then learn a short cool, jazzy synchronized swim routine.  Find out the tips and techniques for being graceful and glamourous in the water.  Finally, perform the routine with your team to the delight of your audience. You will learn the cool Splash cheer, and receive the Splash fun patch too.

Girls must be comfortable in the water and must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted.

Fee includes fun patch, light snack, all instructions, handouts and lifeguards.  Adult supervision per Safety-Wise ratios required.  Having fun is mandatory!
