Membership Connection Committee
The Membership Connection Committee is the centerpiece of our democratic process and a way to give the Girl Scouts of Colorado membership a strong voice in the issues they care most about. The major roles of the MCC are to:
- Provide input, direction and influence over major council policy issues;
- Host one or more statewide forums each year that will provide opportunities for all girls, volunteers and other council stakeholders to give input to the decision makers about the council’s plans and to celebrate achievements.
- Receive a report of actions from meetings of the Board;
- Receive the Annual Report and stewardship report;
- Submit nominees for the MCC to the Board Governance Committee for consideration;
Would you like to be a voice for Girl Scouts of Colorado? Your participation is crucial to our success. Communication is Key to Good Governance
The board of directors serves the membership in an open mode. As they discuss issues and make decisions, it’s important to have a channel of communication between the board and the members. The Membership Connection Committee (MCC) serves that function, accepting questions and input from members, passing appropriate information on to the board, and sharing board reports with the members.
The charge of the MCC will be to ensure a strong membership voice on both policy and operational matters. It will provide a clear channel for older girls, adult volunteers, community representatives and other key constituents to access the decision makers in the council, assuring that all volunteers will have a proactive role in influencing the direction of Girl Scouting in Colorado.
