Who’s in Charge Here?
Girl Scouts is a lot of fun, but it’s also a business with a corporate structure. As a volunteer organization, we have a volunteer board of directors, composed of adult women and men who get a chance for leadership experience. We strive for diversity - - geographic, racial/ethnic, gender, age and backgrounds. The combined expertise of these community members provides the leadership to set the direction of the council and establish the policies and bylaws that guide us.
Board members are nominated by our Board Governance Committee, also composed of volunteers. This committee is always eager to talk to people who would like to serve on the board, or would like to nominate someone else.
Board Governance Committee members are:
Debra L. DeMuth, Denver, Chair
Linda Arneson, Denver

Membership Connection Committee
The board of directors serves the membership in an open mode. As they discuss issues and make decisions, it’s important to have a channel of communication between the board and the members. The Membership Connection Committee (MCC) serves that function, accepting questions and input from members, passing appropriate information on to the board and sharing board reports with the members.
