Girls do not need to be part of a Girl Scout troop to be in Girl Scouts. We refer to these individual girl members as “Juliettes”. There are two main differences:

  1. Girls do not attend troop meetings or have a troop leader for support (girls just work with their parent/guardian or other advisor they choose).
  2. Girls do not have a troop or group bank account, so all funds are tracked through Program Credit Cards (cookie credits or shop gift cards) and proceeds from product sales are deposited directly into the GSCO bank account.

Otherwise, girls have the same access to attend events, camp, earn badges, sell cookies, etc.

Review the “Girl Scouts My Way Guide” for details and expectations of Juliette Advisors, or contact your regional Volunter Support Specialist with questions.
