Power Up is Girl Scouts of Colorado's bullying prevention program based on the kind of bullying that girls do most- excluding, ignoring, gossiping, and drama.
Using a same-sex setting, Power Up creates an environment where girls and adults become skilled at counteracting bullying behavior through experimental learning and processing girls' actual encounters. The program is research-based and outcomes-driven, and focused on preventing the verbal and relational buillying prevalent among girls. Power up teaches the 85% of people who are bystanders to bullying to find their power, stand up, and defend others.
In this 8 hour training, girls and adults will learn how to facilitate Power Up to girls. They will learn great tools to combat bullying, the reasoning and philosophy behind it, and how to teach it their own community!
Price includes food, power up curriculum, a t-shirt.

The theme is the Spring Equinox, the day every Spring when the daylight hours equal the dark night hours.
We will ask literacy promoting sponsors to buy a booth spot and create a literary themed activity, such as:
*Paint your face with a book quote and see who can guess your "Title"!
*Bind your OWN Letterbox log book! Learn to make a book by hand.
*Used Book Shoppe and Cafe' (a $1 donation is suggested for each book, coffee and tea is served and the "servers" would appreciate a "Tip" donation, and baked goodies are also available!- for those three special groups that want to work together and really make an impact on PAL's goal lines!)
*Baby's Teether: New baby books and other little baby items, again only a suggested donation amount for each item, at a booth where Mommies can create a "taste" for good books in their littlest Tag-a-longs.
PAL would LOVE to hear YOUR suggestions for Booths! and we would LOVE it if your joined us and began requesting companies to send volunteers to sponsor and run a booth of their choosing ;)

Wish of a Lifetime is a Colorado-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization created in 2008 by former US Olympic skier and NFL football player Jeremy Bloom. Our mission is to inspire an entire generation and to create a cultural shift on how we view aging and we do this by granting lifelong wishes to senior citizens who have overcome challenges in their own lives.
This activity will connect girls with seniors in their community and enable them to get to know their unique story. It will be their goal to help uncover potential Wishes to be granted by Wish of a Lifetime.
