Learn and participate in a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. It’s a holiday that brings families and friends together to remember those who have passed away and to celebrate their life.  Celebrate Girl Scout’s founder, Juliette Low’s, birthday and life. Dream of what type of legacy you would like to leave. Visit Regis’s Santos collection, take time to visit and reflect at the Grottos and chapel, participate in crafts, music, drama and the Dream Board.  Traditions connected with this holiday include building private altars using sugar skulls, marigolds and the favorite foods of the departed. Also possessions and reminders of loved ones are laid out. Music, poetry, drama interpretations, writing, craft-making are all welcome. Girls will connect with diversity in a multicultural world, and will feel connected to their communities, locally and globally.

Using a same-sex setting, Power Up creates an environment where girls and adults become skilled at counteracting bullying behavior through experiential learning and processing girls’ actual encounters. The program is research-based and outcomes-driven, and focuses on preventing the verbal and relational bullying prevalent among girls. Power Up teaches the 85% of people who are bystanders to bullying to find their power, stand up and defend others. 

In this 8 hour training, girls and adults will learn how to facilitate Power Up to girls. They will learn great tools to combat bullying, the reasoning and philosophy behind it, and how to teach it to their own community!

Price includes Power Up curriculm, tshirt, and food.

No pre-requisites.

Required for any trip that is 3 or more nights. This training is for adult trip advisers and Junior Girl Scouts and above who are going to plan and attend the trip.

The It’s Your World-Change it Journey series program offered this fall in Colorado will give girls an inside look into International Human Rights, opening their eyes and hearts to the lives of girls worldwide. With the help of mentors who will meet with the girls, they will gain the skills needed to advocate for an issue that particularly compels them in a final Take Action Project. This could lead to their Gold Award.

Girls will meet twice a month for three months: Dates will be 11-4, 11-18, 12-2, 12-16, 1-6, 1-20

Are you interested in running your own business? Do you want to learn how to take your cookie business to the next level? Girls who participate in It's Your Business - Run It will strengthen five key entrepreneurial skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics and have fun at the same time!

An overnight where girls will make their own mini Zen garden, plant and experiment with seeds, participate in a nature walk and garden related community service, and learn about aroma therapy.  While having fun with many plant related activities girls will earn most of the Gardener badge. Evening snack and breakfast also provided.  Do eat dinner before you come.

Girls have the opportunity to have fun playing games, doing crafts and sharing with other scouts while earning their Journey.
Journey’s to be worked on are:  Brownies:  A World of Girls Journey, Juniors: Moving Journey, Cadettes: Breathe Journey, Seniors: Mission Sisterhood.

Activities will include

Paper Towers: This is a fun engineering activity that promotes creativity, teamwork and skil. Girls must build a tower out of paper that can support a ball or books and a wind storm!

Food Chemistry: Girls will do a variety of different experiments to explore the science of food, including some edible ones.

Rockets: During this sessions, girls will practice loading and launching an Alka Seltzer rocket and see what conditions will optimize the height of the launch.

Chemical Magic Show: The workshop closes with a fantastic magic show put on by members of ths USAFA Department of Chemistry. 

Snacks will be provided.

Due to the limited space of the AFA labs, the girl-adult ration for this event is 1 adult for every 5 girls attending.

You are invited to spend the day with the Medieval Princess Guinevere and children’s author Cheryl Carpinello. Together you will work on your My Family Story badge.
Princess Guinevere will introduce you to her favorite family story and show you how to make your own family tree and design your own family crest.
Come dressed as your favorite princess, learn new games and an ancient language, eat an Exploding Chocolate Frog, and take home an autographed copy of Guinevere: On the Eve of Legend. Complete all but one requirement to earn the My Family Story badge.
Snacks and drinks will be provided: Cupcakes and Flavored Water. Convey any food allergies by Nov. 1.

Girls will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with successful women from their community who have careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), healthcare, law, business, education and more! Participants will also get to meet students from the University of Denver Women's College to talk about what to study in school and how to navigate life after high school.

What we eat has a profound   effect on our health and wellbeing and how we relate that to our self-esteem and body-image. Girls will learn how to eat sensible by learning what specific foods can fight stress and disease and have a positive impact on our skin, hair, and bodies. Activities may include making an easy super food recipe/ recipe book and or herbal hair/ skin product incorporating the healthy foods discussed.

Girls will learn the basics of being a PA including working with girls and adults, age characteristics of different program levels, as well as program planning and coordination.

The Camp Specialty is for girls interested in being PAs at camp and covers Outdoor Skills including cooking, fire building, and knife safety.

This training is an overnight and will include other activities as well.  Other activities may include; hiking, crafts, farm tour, campfire, etc.

Girls must have completed their Leader In Action award before they can register for this program.

After this training, girls will need to complete six activity sessions (PA internship) to complete their training and earn their pin.

Adults are encouraged (but not required) to attend.  The cost is free and you may be asked to help chaperone the girls at night if the trainer is unable to spend the night. Adult training including “overnights” is a plus.

This family friendly event includes a planetarium show, interactive space-related activities, a magic show, and a decorated cake contest!  (Girls and families may create “Magic Sky” or Girl Scout themed cakes to enter in our contest.  Each category winner will receive a prize! Cakes will be auctioned off to benefit GSCO’s camp facilities, especially the redevelopment of Meadow Mountain Ranch.) All participants will receive a patch.

Ethical just got fabulous! Savvy Shopper gives girls the opportunity to explore the global fashion industry as well as looking at the real costs of our consumption. Through hands on, fun and interactive activities girls will learn about wants vs. needs,  where our things come from, fair trade as well as finding ways to consume more responsibly.

Learning Objectives
• Describe the difference between wilderness first aid and standard first aid
• Describe the importance of immediately establishing control of the scene and starting the primary assessment and secondary assessment
• Demonstrate a field assessment for all types of injuries and when to evacuate
• Describe the contents of an adequate wilderness and remote first aid kit, and its uses
2-year certificate awarded upon completion of this course
Pre-requisite of CPR certifcation
8 hours of homework completed before attending course
This course is necessary for all adult volunteers taking their troops 30 minutes or more from an Emergency Medical Service.To provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response.

This class is designed for individuals who have already been certified in CPR in the past.  You will have 3 written exams –CPR Adult, CPR Child and AED.  You will need to score an 80% or better to pass the exams.   The second part of the challenge course will be a skills demonstration with a CPR Mannequin.

Although this event is open to Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes, girls will be split into groups by program level. Because of the way the program is delivered, there are minimum and maximum capacities for each age level in addition to the overall event capacities.

If minimum capacities are not met, or maximum are exceeded, we will contact you and work with you to reschedule you at an event where you’ll have a better, more age appropriate experience.
