Presented by Rocky Mountain Splash Synchronized Swim Team Do you like music and performing? Do you enjoy swimming? Then you could be a synchronized swimmer! This Olympic sport is the perfect activity for swimmers who want to continue their aquatic skills beyond stroke training.
Join Janet Redwine, 2008 Synchronized Swimming Olympian and former Girl Scout, along with the rest of the Splash team for the Girl Scout Synchro Fun Day. You will design a flashy competition swimsuit, have the Splash girls apply performance makeup on you, and learn how to keep your hair perfect in & out of the water (Hint: You can eat it!). Finally, you will learn and perform a cool and jazzy synchronized swim routine.
Girls must be comfortable in the water and must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted. If scout cannot swim, a parent/leader is expected to assist scout in the water. Adult supervision per Safety-Wise ratios required.
Bring your swimsuit (one piece preferred), towel, water bottle, goggles, swim cap (optional). Fun patch, healthy snack, and nose clips will be provided.

Girls will learn the basics of being a PA including working with girls and adults, age characteristics of different program levels, as well as program planning and coordination.
The Camp Specialty is for girls interested in being PAs at camp and covers Outdoor Skills including cooking, fire building, and knife safety.
This training is an overnight and will include other activities as well. Other activities may include; hiking, crafts, farm tour, campfire, etc.
Girls must have completed their Leader In Action award before they can register for this program.
After this training, girls will need to complete six activity sessions (PA internship) to complete their training and earn their pin.
Adults are encouraged (but not required) to attend. The cost is free and you may be asked to help chaperone the girls at night if the trainer is unable to spend the night. Adult training including “overnights” is a plus.

Using a same-sex setting, Power Up creates an environment where girls and adults become skilled at counteracting bullying behavior through experiential learning and processing girls’ actual encounters.
The program is research-based and outcomes-driven, and focuses on preventing the verbal and relational bullying prevalent among girls. Power Up teaches the 85% of people who are bystanders to bullying to find their power, stand up and defend others.
In this 8 hour training, girls and adults will learn how to facilitate Power Up to girls. They will learn great tools to combat bullying, the reasoning and philosophy behind it, and how to teach it to their own community!

Girls will learn the basics of being a PA including working with girls and adults, age characteristics of different program levels, as well as program planning and coordination.
The Camp Specialty is for girls interested in being PAs at camp and covers Outdoor Skills including cooking, fire building, and knife safety.
This training is an overnight and will include other activities as well. Other activities may include; hiking, crafts, farm tour, campfire, etc.
Girls must have completed their Leader In Action award before they can register for this program.
After this training, girls will need to complete six activity sessions (PA internship) to complete their training and earn their pin.
Adults are encouraged (but not required) to attend. The cost is free and you may be asked to help chaperone the girls at night if the trainer is unable to spend the night. Adult training including “overnights” is a plus.
