Presented by Rocky Mountain Splash Synchronized Swim Team Do you like music and performing? Do you enjoy swimming? Then you could be a synchronized swimmer! This Olympic sport is the perfect activity for swimmers who want to continue their aquatic skills beyond stroke training.
Join Janet Redwine, 2008 Synchronized Swimming Olympian and former Girl Scout, along with the rest of the Splash team for the Girl Scout Synchro Fun Day. You will design a flashy competition swimsuit, have the Splash girls apply performance makeup on you, and learn how to keep your hair perfect in & out of the water (Hint: You can eat it!). Finally, you will learn and perform a cool and jazzy synchronized swim routine.
Girls must be comfortable in the water and must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted. If scout cannot swim, a parent/leader is expected to assist scout in the water. Adult supervision per Safety-Wise ratios required.
Bring your swimsuit (one piece preferred), towel, water bottle, goggles, swim cap (optional). Fun patch, healthy snack, and nose clips will be provided.

Junior Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to complete the “Agent of Change” journey at Hamp Hut.
This is a great opportunity for girls to experience a journey, work toward their Journey Summit award, and meet girls from other troops.  Juliettes are encouraged to attend!

• Adult-to-scout ratios need to be in alignment with Safety Activity Checkpoints 
• All snacks, food and craft supplies will be provided  (bring a sack dinner for Friday)

Girl Scouts can create a workof art using chalk pastels on a piece of sidewalk outside the El Pueblo Muesum to be displayed at the local Chili Festival.

Girls will learn the basics of being a PA including working with girls and adults, age characteristics of different program levels, as well as program planning and coordination.

The Camp Specialty is for girls interested in being PAs at camp and covers Outdoor Skills including cooking, fire building, and knife safety.

This training is an overnight and will include other activities as well.  Other activities may include; hiking, crafts, farm tour, campfire, etc.

Girls must have completed their Leader In Action award before they can register for this program.

After this training, girls will need to complete six activity sessions (PA internship) to complete their training and earn their pin.

Adults are encouraged (but not required) to attend.  The cost is free and you may be asked to help chaperone the girls at night if the trainer is unable to spend the night. Adult training including “overnights” is a plus.

Evening program includes wagon ride, prairie animals program, songs and stories. Morning program includes wagon ride or walk and breakfast. Campfire will occur weather permitting. 30 people maximum. PLEASE NOTE: Girl Scouts of Colorado requires that girl scouts attending a PCC overnight be accompanied by a Camp Trained Adult. This applies to all our over-nights.

Creative Journaling 101 will help each girl find her voice as  a writer using journaling as her blank canvas and her pers as trusted advisors and creative support. Register now for the alumnae 100th anniversary weekend camp at Tomahawk Ranch October 12-14, 2012. This weekend is meant for adult volunteers and alumnae to come up to camp and have fun! Experienced geoscientists will explain fossil footprints, show dinosaur bones, and make Mesozoic Colorado come to life at Dinosaur Ridge. Hands-on activities at the Visitor Center will include gold panning, fossil sifting, track painting, and Mr. Bones with his amazing dinosaur skeletons.  Many organizations that represent women in science will be there to explore career choices.  This event also coincides with National Fossil Day.  Pre-registration is encouraged for all Girl Scouts.  Walk-in registration is available for 7.00 per person the day of the event

Have you ever wanted to find out what a vet does? Come to Pets and Vets and find out! You will learn about responsible pet ownership, pet health and how to become a vet or vet tech!

Using a same-sex setting, Power Up creates an environment where girls and adults become skilled at counteracting bullying behavior through experiential learning and processing girls’ actual encounters.

The program is research-based and outcomes-driven, and focuses on preventing the verbal and relational bullying prevalent among girls. Power Up teaches the 85% of people who are bystanders to bullying to find their power, stand up and defend others. 

In this 8 hour training, girls and adults will learn how to facilitate Power Up to girls. They will learn great tools to combat bullying, the reasoning and philosophy behind it, and how to teach it to their own community!

Join the amazing students from the Colorado School of Mines to do fun, hands-on science activities.  You can learn about asphalt by making fun cookies, and take a tour of the School of Mines while learning about women in engineering, math and science.

Activities during this Garden Party are related to a garden theme and Girl Scout values, history and traditions.
Daisies participating in this event will earn the “watering can,” and the “golden honey bee” awards. To complete the Daisy Flower Garden Journey leaders/parents/girls will plan for their Take Action project to complete “amazing Daisy” award. This course is required before planning an outing that involves cooking outdoors and/or camping overnight and 6-9 months prior to the trip.  This course prepares adults to partner with girls in planning and preparing for outdoor cooking, fire building (in-door and out) and overnight camping.  Prerequisite: Overnight Trips

Junior Drawing Badge.  That’s what makes drawing so fun.  In this class, Anita, will show you different techniques to make your drawings even better – which will make it more fun to see what your imagination can do.  You will be experimenting with different materials, learn how to shade, put some perspective in your pictures and make a portfolio.  Badge not included.

Test your ability to solve problems...like figuring out how to build the best roller coaster or how to create medical devices that save lives. Take the engineering challenge and have fun! Through fun, hands-on activities such as making their own sunset in a bottle, using Jell-O to understand how lenses work, and even making their own telescope, girls learn about the exciting world of optics and why it is so important to everyday life. The program also shows career profiles to highlight some of the many job opportunities in the field.

Every girl has been to a sleepover and  every girl can say that bullying usually happens at these events and they turn out to not be so fun. Well sleepovers will never be the same after you come to Power Up Your Sleepover. Girls will learn how  to recognize the strength within and how to become advocates againist bullyinh.As well as how to intervene when they see something wrong.  Girls will learn fun sleepover games and how to have a sleepover drama and gossip free. Breakfast and snacks are provided as well as the Brand New Power Up Patch.
