Horsecapades: Westernaires Annual Show
10/25/2014 to 10/26/2014
HORSECAPADES is the unique presentation of the Westernaires. It combines talent with skill that is centered around the horse and Western tradition. It's a circus-like review combining action, speed and a variety of talents set to music.
Event Type: Outside Group Events
When: 10/25/2014 to 10/26/2014
Where: National Western Complex
4655 Humboldt St
Denver, CO
Cost: $10.00 (girl) / $10.00 (adult)

Horsecapades, as it is also known, is a professional performance of the largest precision drill riding group in the world. High speed, precision horsemanship in a dazzling array of costumes. Bullwhips and rope tricks. Flaming batons. Historical battle reenactments. Astonishing trick riding. All performed by young people who have chosen the road less traveled. While others take up more common sports and activities, the youth of Westernaires work year round at honing skills that represent the best traditions of the American West.

By attending the Westernaires Annual Show, you're not only seeing a Wild West Show unlike any on earth. You also help support the work of generations of Westernaires volunteers endeavoring to equip the leaders of tomorrow. While character, teamwork and self discipline are an even bigger part of Westernaires than horsemanship, the horses' feed, farrier and veterinary care come at a cost. Horsecapades is a major part of raising the funds that have kept the organization running for 65 years and counting.

Come see the show, and you'll soon want to make The Westernaires Annual Show a part of your family's yearly tradition.

The Stroup family will be collaborating with Westernaires to provide everyone attending the Oct. 25th performance at 9:30 with a behind the scenes tour and a chance to meet some Westernaires after the show.

Please register with Ti, Jo and Libby Stroup ( all GS) at 303-333-8723 or westernairestickets@gmail.com.

When:
Saturday, Oct. 25: 10AM, 2PM*, 7PM*

We will have the following Workshops and Sessions:

Program Aid Training – Cadette (All day Workshop) The PA leadership opportunity is designed to help Cadette Girl Scouts discover their talents in mentoring and leading younger children, gain the confidence, knowledge and expertise needed to guide younger girls, and prepares them to hold future leadership positions within and outside of Girl Scouting; plus, connect with other teen Girl Scouts from around the council.  Specifically, PAs are girls who become proficient in a specific area of interest and share their specialized knowledge with younger girls in a troop or group setting
Power UP – Juniors (All Day Workshop) Learn how to be a true friend at this fun, high energy event. You will learn how to know bullying when you see it, and how to stop it! Power Up is Girl Scouts of Colorado's bullying prevention program focused on the kind of bullying that girls do most: excluding, ignoring, gossiping, and drama. In Power Up girls learn... Who Has the Power? Understand the role power plays in friendships and how to use that power for good. Know what makes a good friend and how to handle it when friendships get ugly. Figure out what roles are played in girl dramas and how you can be more than a bystander when girls are teased or left out.
Gold Award Training - Cadette and Seniors (Morning session) Just thinking about earning your Gold Award? This training and morning hangout is as perfect time to get answers and support for earning your Gold Award. Hear from staff and girls who have recently earned their awards, brainstorm, and get answers to all your questions.
