Cost is $20/hour for registered Girl Scout Members and $25/hour for nonmembers.

The Move It! Sports Sampler will allow girls to sample various sports while learning new skills and teamwork.

Girls and their adult chaperones will travel in an 8 station loop. Stations that may be offered include:

Join other Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts for a full day of hands-on, horse related activities while you earn a horse patch. Watch a show horse competition at the Colorado Classic Horse Show.

Then take part in the biggest horse-themed wide game all year! Rotate through stations to learn about: veterinary care, horse shoeing, horse breeds, behavior, safety around horses, grooming and a barn tour, plus more fun horsey info.

Earn a special horse patch by the end of the event and use all your new horse knowledge to jump right into horse camp this summer! If you love horses, this event is for you!

Come enter the Daisy Garden Journey to learn about the amazing aspects of growing your own garden and about the traditions in Girl Scouting.

Activities during this Garden Party are related to a garden theme and Girl Scout values, history and traditions.  Daisies participating in this event will earn the “watering can,” and the “golden honey bee” awards.

To complete the Daisy Flower Garden Journey leaders/parents/girls will plan for their Take Action project to complete “amazing Daisy” award. Also ideas and resources will be available to add to your journey experience.

We will be offering Fundamentals of Canoeing (FC) and Small Craft Safety in Canoeing for participants 12 years and older, weighing a minimum of of 90 lbs.  The course will include the ACA beginning Canoeing Manual and the ARC Small Craft Safety Manual as well as a Red Cross Certificate in Fundamnetals of Canoeing or Small Craft Saftey in Canoeing.

This is a three day course you must attend all days to receive credit. May 4,5 &11th

Do you love to dance?  Are you curious about different dance styles?  Do you want to learn some new dance styles and moves?

Come to the Moving on Up - Dancing with Us event hosted by The Elite Dance Academy!  This event will feature different styles of dance and girls will get to learn the fundamentals about the different styles along with some fitness!  All classes will be taught by professional dancers.

Girls that attend this event will earn the Healthy Living Patch and Day of Dance Rocker, along with the Brownie Dance Badge and the Junior Staying Fit Badge.

Dance on over to Colorado Springs Christian School on May 4, 2013, there will be so much to do at the Safety Hop. Test your observation skills in the Hazard House, learn the Stop, Drop, and Roll Boogie, make a portable first aid kit, explore bike safety, learn what to do when a friend is hurt or choking, and so much more!!!! Police Officers, Firefighters, and EMTs will be there with their emergency vehicles for you to explore. Snacks will be provided. This event fulfills the Daisy safety award requirements and may help meet Brownie first aid try-it requirements.

This free event is designed to help children learn more about safety with our police departments, our SafeSplash swimming schools, and fire departments.  Kids get to meet officers from different police departments in our area and local firefighters.  Kids learn about safety with a 911 demonstration booth from Parker Police Dispatch and get to meet the famous McGruff - The Crime Dog from Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.  Kids will enjoy a bunch of activities including a bouncy house, arts & crafts and a variety of sponsor offerings with free items for the kiddos! FRO YO Spot will be on site offering free frozen yogurt samples for the kiddos! Stop by and enjoy a fun filled day for the entire troops at SafeSplash Swim School's Spring Fling!

The National Fire Protection Association is coordinating a statewide Wildfire Preparedness Day of Service in Colorado on Saturday, May 4, 2013.  Governor John Hickenlooper has signed a proclamation for the day which also coincides with the International Association of Wildland Fire’s (IAWF) Global Wildfire Awareness Week.  Colorado experienced extremely large and devastating wildfires in 2012, and in an effort to reduce the potential impacts of more fires this year, we’re asking for your help in encouraging your scouts to participate in the day of service and becoming a wildfire prevention/mitigation influencer and messenger within their own families, and also in the community where they live.

The Wildfire Preparedness Day of Service is being promoted to residents of all ages that live in areas with a wildfire risk, with a special emphasis on youth – and what they can do to make their communities a safer place. The array of projects range from activities that can be easily accomplished in under an hour, to some that could take an entire day; with options for a single individual, family, or even larger group.  Outreach efforts are being made to wildland/urban interface schools and youth organizations; with additional efforts being done by the Colorado State Forest Service, READYColorado, the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the Mile High Chapter of the Red Cross, and the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association.

The scope can be large or small – you decide the details. Potential options range from an intergenerational project with participants doing mitigation work that helps elderly or disabled residents; to a combined educational segment and work activity. Participants will be elliagable for certification in Small Watercraft Safety Instruction, Flat Water and Lake Instruction, and Basic Water Rescue Instruction. Candidats will receive certification from the American Red Cross in all three areas upon successfull completion of all courses and 80% or better success in all exams.

Through fun, hands-on activities such as making their own telescope, girls learn about the exciting world of optics and why it is so important everyday life. The program also shows career profiles to highlight some of the many job opportunities in the field.

Come immerse yourself in movement and dances from West Africa.  This Cultural Dance Workshop is a four part series that will focus on African culture, history and movement. During the course of these classes you will learn about the roots of hip hop including, music, art, dance and community.

This 4 week series will run weekly from May 10th to May 31st.

The cost is $70 per girl and $25 per Safety Wise Adult.  Additional adults will be allowed to register at full price after registration closes.  To register you must pay the $25 Processing fee per person.  During the check out process please enter the names of each person attending; this is required to complete the registration process.

Help prepare the properties for the summer camp season. There is no fee, and lunch is provided. No pets allowed. You will need to fill out one Camp Registration Form per group and one Health Form per person attending. This is a great service project for your troop, but due to the amount of work, there is not time for your troop to work on badges or other projects. Some of the jobs will include putting up platform tents, cleaning all buildings, cleaning bathrooms and latrines, picking up trash and maintaining trails.

Daisies will learn about animals from around the world and how to care for animals at home. Learning at an early age how to treat animals with kindness helps our girls learn about compassion and empathy and gives them a sense of empowerment and responsibility.

We open with a flag ceremony at 11:00 am and the Crossing of the Bridge will begin at 11:15 am. Girls who are bridging will cross the bridge and be welcomed on the other side by family and sister Girl Scouts.

The Juniper Junction Pavilion will be available to all Girl Scouts for the day. This is also an opportunity to recognize individual achievements and special awards.

The event fee for the bridging is $5.00 per Bridging Girl Scout and $3.00 per adult and non Girl Scouts. This fee is payable to Girl Scouts of Colorado and DOES NOT include admission to the Royal Gorge Park.

IMPORTANT!!!! THERE IS A SEPERATE GATE ADMISSION FEE FOR THE ROYAL GORGE PARK.  This fee is $12 per adult and children, ages 4-11 and MUST BE PAID AT THE GATE the day of the event for attendees. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need older girl troops and adults to help with this year's bridging. They will be our event ambassadors conducting our opening flag ceremony, event mc and singing songs prior to our bridging.

Join us for a Brownie Girl Scout Pets Badge day! Find out about the care different pets need from the families they live with.  Learn special tips that will keep pets healthy and looking good.  Figure out the cost of feeding and caring for your own pet.  Make a cozy sleeping place for an animal at the shelter.  Design a toy for critters to play with during their stay at the shelter. Take a tour of HSPPR, including a peek behind the scenes.  Visit with a few of the animal ambassadors. Helps girls recognize what foods help to promote healthy bodies, minds, and moods.  What we eat has a profound   effect on our health and well being and how we relate that to our self-esteem and body-image. Girls will learn how to eat sensible by learning what specific foods can fight stress and disease and have a positive impact on our skin, hair, and bodies. Activities may include making an easy super food recipe/ recipe book and or herbal hair/ skin product incorporating the healthy foods discussed.

"The Talk" is a mother daughter workshop on surviving and thriving as girls journey through adolescence and puberty. For more information contact Jill Pond at jill@girlsrite.com

This course is required before planning an outing that involves cooking outdoors and/or camping overnight and 6-9 months prior to the trip.  This course prepares adults to partner with girls in planning and preparing for outdoor cooking, fire building (in-door and out) and overnight camping.  Prerequisite: Overnight Trips

Join us for the 2013 Bash Dash! Participate in challenges and learn about local non-profits and make it to the finish line in time for awards, a costume contest and an ice cream social!

There are preschool-friendly challenges, and a separate course of challenges for elementary - high school players and their adult participants!  Build a house out of pool noodles and twine for Homes for Our Troops, or navigate a fitness obstacle course for the Stapleton Foundation's Be Well Initiative!  Teams must have a minimum of 4 people, with at least 1 adult.

Experience Girl Scout camp as a family for one, two, or three nights at Magic Sky Ranch. Open to all family members. Activities may include: archery, climb wall, high ropes, team building, arts, crafts, nature, campfire, hiking, singing.

The cost is $85 per person.

Participate in Disney Youth Education Adventures, a Sing-along Dinner, and a Sweets and Swaps Social to celebrate the spirit of Scouting at the Walt Disney World® Resort!!

Walt Disney World is hosting 3 classes for each Girl Scout grade level (see descriptions below). They are also presenting 2 extra special gatherings just for Girl Scouts,

• The first is to kick off the entire event with a private dinner at Hollywood Studios. Includes a buffet, sing along and character meet and greet, as well as a specialty patch.
• The second  is to meet and connect with other Girl Scouts by trading swaps and enjoying a private dessert event while watching the Illuminations: Reflections of Earth show at Epcot. This will also include a specialty patch.

Both groups will participate in a Global Emersion project at Epcot, learning about culture, food, clothes and much more.

While at the parks girls will have the opportunity to earn  badges. The Girl Scouts Citrus Council has taken the badge basics and made them connect to Disney Properties. The girls will decide which ones they want to work on at pre meetings.

Itinerary:
May24, 2013- travel from Denver airport to Orlando airport, explore hotel, our rooms and pool.
May 25, 2013- May 30, 2013 – Both groups will visit Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center, Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney. The day may change since we have hopper passes and each class and event will take place at different venues.
May 31, 2013- travel from Orlando, Florida to Denver, Colorado

This trip includes fun, adventure, girl-led activities, education classes, exploration, travel experience and more!

**Trip Advisors will offer three gatherings before the trip dates to educate the girls on travel safety, budgeting, packing and more, this time will allow the girls and adults to get to know each other with fun Girl Scout activities.

Girl Scouts of Colorado is offering troop camping at Island Acres State Park in beautiful Grand Junction. For Girls entering grades 2-12

The cost is $55 per girl. Volunteers to meet safety ratio are free. Any additional adults over ratio pay full price if there is available space.

The full amount per person is due at time of registration. During the check out process please enter the names of each person attending; this is required to complete the registration process.  Each person attending including ALL girls and adults must be registered members for the 2013 year.
