Girls will participate in winter-themed activities including games and crafts!  Cadette troop 10254 is asking that all registrants bring gently used winter clothing.  All of the donations will be given to LIFT-Up.  LIFT-UP is a nonprofit organization, located in Western Colorado, dedicated to providing essential humanitarian assistance in the communities we serve.

The It’s Your World-Change it Journey series program offered this fall in Colorado will give girls an inside look into International Human Rights, opening their eyes and hearts to the lives of girls worldwide. With the help of mentors who will meet with the girls, they will gain the skills needed to advocate for an issue that particularly compels them in a final Take Action Project. This could lead to their Gold Award.

Girls will meet twice a month for three months: Dates will be 11-4, 11-18, 12-2, 12-16, 1-6, 1-20

Get those questions and more answered as we investigate the global world of fashion and earn our savvy shopper badge. You will also learn how to redesign your old clothes into something new.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service provides volunteers and neighbors the opportunity to help their communities by giving back for a day. He recognized that through service to others, we could transform our world.

During the week of Dr. King's birth, volunteers can make a difference in local communities and turn a day of remembrance into a day of action:
 

-Engage residents in fire preparedness conversations and distribute door hangers

-Build outreach to diverse and underserved communities to reduce home fires in vulnerable neighborhoods

-Work with Red Cross volunteers and local partners, including HOPE worldwide, the Aurora Fire Department, and local citizens

-We make it easy for you! You will receive Red Cross door hangers, scripted fire prevention messages to use when talking with local residents, volunteer identification and an assigned route

Do you love to sing? Do you remember Girl Scout songs from your younger days? Would you like to sing some more and learn newer, fun songs as well as the "oldies & goodies?" Then SONGBIRDS GIRL SCOUT CHOIR is for you!  Open to anyone of any age at any time. Guitar classes are available for ages 10 and up.  We've been singing for 12 years now, and having a great time showing our love for Girl Scouts at special events, fund-raisers, community events, etc. We meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month September through April. Join other Girl Scouts from across Colorado for an exhilarating weekend of winter adventure and fun at the beautiful Magic Sky Ranch. This event is planned and led by an older-girl troop, and provides the opportunity to enjoy “camping” for two nights in comfortable, heated lodges. You will complete one of GSUSA’s new badges. Other activities include archery, active games, campfire, and a chance to hang out with your troop and new friends you will meet.

The girls will be the judge, attorneys, defendant, jury and the police.  With the direction of Judge Plewe they will learn how to conduct a mock trial involving the theft of an Ipod here in our own community.  After the mock trial the girls will be allowed to have pictures taken on the judge's bench with the gavel and robe on.

University of Colorado Denver presents a FREE series of  8 STEM lectures open to all ages. Engaging and unique topics include "Closing in on Dark Matter" and "Computer Vision". FREE parking on the downtown Auraria Campus is included.
