Reach for the Peak

Reach for the Peak is an annual 3-day, outdoor skills competition for girls, ages 11-17 that has been going on for over 25 years.

Girls compete in knot tying skills, camping skills including site selection, tent setup, leave no trace skills, and many more skills. Reach for the Peak is a chance for girls to learn new skills, refine learned skills, and demonstrate their expertise in competition. Troops are awarded the Marmot, Big Horn Sheep, Eagle or Peak Award for their efforts. Juliettes are welcome to form teams or join others for the event.

Camp # 4 will revisit past camps of the Environmental/STEM series.

Our series is designed to inspire environmental stewardship through a combination of Girl Scout program and Keystone Science School curriculum.  All camps will provide an opportunity for girls to earn Girl Scout program badges, implement environmentally based take action projects, and participate in Highest Awards.

Our series is supported in part by the Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold Foundation Climax-Area (CO) Community Investment Fund for Eagle, Lake and Chaffee County Girl Scouts (girl fee of $60). This camp is also available at full cost to all Girl Scouts of Colorado. Fee information and curriculum will be forwarded by email. We will offer evening campfires and astronomy sessions in the school's observatory!  A surprise field trip is scheduled for this final camp.

The cost is $80 per girl and $35 per Safety Wise  Adult. Upon registration you will pay the $25 non-refundable application processing fee per person, this is part of the full fee.

During the initial registration period only Safety Ratio Adults can register. Additional adults will be allowed to register at full price after the four week registration deadline.  Instructions will be sent 4-5 weeks prior to camp on how to pay the remaning amount.
Upon checkout please enter any dietary restrictions or food allergies as well as an emergency contact for each registrant.
All adults must be registered and approved  volunteers in order to attend. To get started on becoming an approved volunteer please click here. Overnight training is not required but strongly recommended for adults.

$15 per girl Brownies and up (girl scouts and  non-scouts)
 Registered Adults  staying overnight for safety-wise $5
Cost includes all activities, pizza, dance party, snacks, breakfast, and a fun patch.
