We are kicking off the new year with a really easy way for you to volunteer, and for you to help get thousands of Coloradans prepared for the types of disasters that we’ve seen all too much of lately.
Join Red Cross and HOPE worldwide at North High School in Denver on Saturday, January 18th at 8:30am for a fun and easy canvassing event. We do this in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, as a day of service in our collective community.
We’ll be knocking on more than 4,000 doors and spreading the word about disaster preparedness to everyone we see. You’ll get a brief training and then join small teams of 4-6 to head out and hit the streets. Bring your own team of friends & family –they don’t have to be Red Cross volunteers. This a great event for volunteers of all ages, and it makes a big impact!
We encourage youth volunteers who are under the age of 16 to attend with an adult chaperone.
**All youth participants under the age of 18 must complete the attached permission form and bring it to the event.**
This is our 7th year for this event and we expect 200-250 volunteers to join us – will you be one of them?
Please RSVP by 1/14/14 so that we can plan for breakfast, t-shirts, materials, and canvassing routes: https://coloradoredcross1.wufoo.com/forms/2014-mlk-jr-day-of-service-rsvp/
