MIlk & Cookies raises funds and awareness for Girl Scouts of Colorado while providing a fun and tasty experience! Sponsored by Western Dairy Association, dairy products are provided courtesy of Meadow Gold. The event features hands-on information stations and games, which enable participants to learn and get excited about calcium, bone health, and proper nutrition.
This year’s event in Longmont added a Parent/Daughter Bake Off! Girl Scouts and parents incorporated Girl Scout cookies into their recipes and event attendees enjoyed yummy samples. Local community leaders - Chuck Allen, Executive Vice President of Guarantee Bank & Trust and his wife, Bonnie; Eric Hozempa, Executive Director of the Longmont Community Foundation; and Dennis Coombs, Mayor of Longmont; judged the cookie creations.
Activity stations include: Dairy Then & Now, From Farm to Table, Calcium Facts, Think Your Drink, Nutrition IQ, Mr. Bottle Bones, Get Fit, and Make Your Own Butter. Food tables provide a variety of dairy products: Milk & Cookies (cookies paired with white, chocolate, and strawberry milk), Yogurt & Fruit (fresh berries with strawberry, blueberry, peach, raspberry, and strawberry/banana yogurts), Sour Cream & Veggies (vegetables with French onion, green chili, jalapeno, and ranch sour creams), and Ice Cream & Cookies (our most popular booth!).
Thank you to our sponsors and financial supporters!
Milk & Cookies is a free event! Corporate and community sponsorships make this possible.
