Many girls never get a chance to experience the serenity and magic of nature and the camaraderie of other girls due to camp location and transportation challenges. With your help, these girls will get to discover the fun and friendship of Girl Scouts and develop their leadership skills under the stars at overnight camp. Bring a year of Girl Scouts to an underserved girl from a housing project. Your gift covers the cost of the membership fee, vest, patches, program fees, etc. for one year. Requests for financial assistance for girls to participate in Girl Scouts are at an all-time high.  This year, Girl Scouts will award nearly $182,000 in financial assistance to support Girl Scout basics (uniforms, badges, and program books) outdoor programs/camps, GSUSA dues/membership assistance, troop start-up assistance for underserved populations (program books, materials, site meeting location fees), and volunteer services (adult training, background checks). We teach girls to make responsible decisions that will benefit them for a lifetime.  Changing the world for the better starts with taking care of yourself. Girl Scout programs recognize that physical health, emotional health and self-esteem are all connected. We support the “whole girl.”  Help a girl keep moving while building confidence and self-esteem.

By participating in our many outdoor opportunities, girls get big adventure, big friendships, big confidence and big life experiences — all while growing as leaders. Activities are theme-based and also include general camp activities such as hiking, singing, crafts, games and making new friends. Pay for seven girls to attend the Cool Science workshop GSCO Girl Scouts helps girls explore and develop an early interest in STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and math.  We encourage girls not only to stay in school, but seek college degrees and foster dynamic careers in fields that have not been traditionally accessible to girls. Girls start leaving science to boys as early as seventh grade, but Girl Scouts makes science come alive for girls through hands-on experience and access to inspiring role models. The opportunity to ride a horse is the stuff of a young girl’s dreams:  saddling, riding, haltering and grooming.  Our horse program provides an unforgettable opportunity for girls to experience leadership on a whole new level. Horseback riding is a natural fit with Girl Scouting programs since it builds character, confidence, leadership qualities and countless life skills. Train a facilitator to bring the Power Up anti-bullying program to girls. Power Up is a nationally recognized Girl Scouts of Colorado program that combats relational aggression or bullying among girls. Girls discover how bullying involves an imbalance of power and how it occurs in a culture where there is a sense of entitlement and intolerance. Power Up encourages the 85 percent of the population who are bystanders to bullying (rather than targets or bullies) to recognize the strength in those numbers and use it to intervene when they see something wrong.
